The Hundred Tournament – Overview

The Hundred is an exciting 100-ball cricket tournament that features eight men’s and eight women’s teams based in major cities throughout England and Wales. Organized by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), this professional franchise event made its debut in July and August 2021.

Designed to ensure each match lasts approximately two-and-a-half hours, the innovative format has garnered significant attention. The BBC provides free-to-air broadcasts of the competition, while Sky Sports’ YouTube channel streams all women’s matches and select men’s matches for free.

The majority of the matches are scheduled as back-to-back double-headers, with both the men’s and women’s games taking place at the same venue on the same day. A single ticket grants access to both games, providing great value for spectators. Although men’s salaries are notably higher than women’s, the tournament maintains gender equality by offering equal prize money for both categories.
